As a WikiHouse Design & Build team you will

  • Work with customers to undersand their needs and develop a design and specification. This might be bespoke or based on a pre-made catalogue of designs.
  • Provide customers with accurate cost estimates or quotes, even from an early stage.
  • Ensure the project complies with all relevant regulations and codes in your jurisdiction.
  • Manage deliver and complete buildings to a finished state.

Do I have to be a WikiHouse partner to use WikiHouse?

No. Anyone can use WikiHouse in their projects, in the same way that you might use any other construction product. This might include, for example, architects, construction firms, or companies that sell offsite architectural products, like cabins.

Become a WikiHouse partner if:

  • You want to manufacture WikiHouse blocks,
  • You want to describe your products or services using the WikiHouse trademark, or
  • You are interested in receiving new customer referrals
Can I be more than one type of WikiHouse partner at once?

Yes. Our licence agreements are modular. So you can serve as many or few roles as you want. You also have flexibility and control over your prices and the scope of services you offer.

If you're interested in more than one of the partnership roles above, just tap one of the buttons above. You'll then have the opportunity to tell us which roles you're interested in.

Do I have to pay anything to become a WikiHouse partner?

No. You do not need to pay anything upfront, or any kind of subscription. We want to minimise the barriers and risks for small businesses, so our model is based on share of value-created. WikiHouse Manufacturers charge and pass-on a small portion with every project they cut.

Why can't I be a WikiHouse partner as just an architect?

We often get approached by project clients who don't yet have an architect or designer to work with. We really want to be able to refer them to architectural design teams who are familiar with using WikiHouse, and have a track record of designing beautiful, sustainable, human-centered places. However, due to the innovation-averse nature of the construction industry, architects alone often find it hard to offer clients accurate estimates of the likely cost of their project.

We have found that what works is when design teams partner with building teams who have built with WikiHouse before, and intend to use it again and again. Together, they can offer clients predictable pricing and a better experience through the whole journey of their project, from idea to completion.

If you're an architect who wants to offer dedicated services specifically to customers interested in building with WikiHouse, we recommend partnering-up with one or more construction firms so you can get their input on costs as early as possible and by iteratively repeating and developing patterns, solutions and ways of working together over time.

What if I'm the first WikiHouse partner in my country?

If there is currently no WikiHouse supply chain where you are, you will usually need to find at least one structural engineer willing to check and certify structures using WikiHouse (they do not need to be a WikiHouse Engineer yet) and at least one design team who are willing to go on the journey of making sure that WikiHouse can meet all relevant codes and regulations where you are. Once you have this team in place we will try to support you as best we can to help you get up and running.

You might be able to connect with other professionals in your country in the WikiHouse community forum

Do I need any certifications?

You need to be competent and qualified to provide the relevant services in your jurisdiction. Exactly what these are for different roles varies from country to country.

Does being a WikiHouse partner carry any automatic certifications?

How warranties, certifications and regulatory compliance work varies from country to country. We have developed standardised production controls and a body of open research and evidence that serve as an excellent practical baseline everywhere, but exactly what product or provider certifications these facilitate will depend on what you're doing and where you are. If you have a particular certification requirement that you need WikiHouse blocks or design services to meet, let us know. We will support however we can.

Are WikiHouse partnerships exclusive?

No. Part of WikiHouse's resilience and scalability is that providers are not tied to just one product, and the product is not tied to just one provider. This means that, for example, as a manufacturer, WikiHouse might be just one of many on-demand products you make. Similarly, we may partner with other manufacturers in your region. This creates opportunities for collaboration, as well as competition.
